John NA Brown has solved problems for Google, Amazon, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube and has been working on AI for nearly 10 years. At this talk on AI IQ – LOL: How Computer Scientists Use Social Media and Smartphones to Control Your Behaviour and Why It Works, John will explain why AI isn’t really all that smart, and why a lot of smart people think that it is. Then he’ll help you see for yourselves how your smartphones and computers are designed to make you feel clever but act without thinking. He’ll finish with a 30-minute Ask Me Anything session.
